Andronikos Kakoullis returns to Omonia Nicosia
On July 1, 2026, Omonia Nicosia officially announced the return of Cypriot striker Andronikos Kakoullis. The transfer was completed following an agreement between the Swedish club AIK Stockholm, Aris Limassol, and Omonia. AIK Stockholm confirmed the permanent transfer of the 25-year-old player to Aris Limassol after performance-related conditions from a previous loan agreement were met, which subsequently allowed Aris to facilitate his transfer to Omonia. Kakoullis previously recorded 39 appearances and 10 goals during his time at Aris in the 2025-2026 season. Upon his return, the striker signed with Omonia and immediately joined the team for a training camp in Poland. He participated in his first friendly match against Dinamo Bucuresti alongside new teammate Montnor. In his initial statements, Kakoullis highlighted the influence of coach Henning Berg in his decision to return. The player expressed his pride in rejoining the club and stated his commitment to helping the team achieve its goals, including a potential spot in the Champions League phase. Omonia also expects to announce the signing of Slovenian defender Zan Karnicnik shortly.
