According to reports, Meyer is currently negative toward the proposal due to the significant difference in compensation compared to his previous agreement. The club management emphasized that they are not willing to maintain high-cost contracts that do not fully align with on-field performance. Meyer's tenure was hindered by his inability to consistently elevate the midfield and a late-season injury involving abdominal adductor issues. The player must now decide whether to accept the new terms or depart the club. APOEL has indicated that they will not seek further negotiations if the current offer is rejected as of July 1, 2026.
