AUB Mediterraneo and Cyta sign strategic cooperation memorandum

The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo), based in Paphos, and the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta) have formally signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements in Cyprus. The collaboration focuses on enhancing digital skills, research, and innovation across fields including technology, engineering, and business. Planned initiatives under the agreement include student internship programs, guest lectures from industry executives, and joint research activities. Both organizations intend to facilitate knowledge exchange between academic staff and market professionals to better prepare students for the labor market. AUB Mediterraneo views this deal as part of its strategy to integrate further into the local innovation and research ecosystem. Rector Wassim El Hajj stated that the partnership will provide students with experiential learning opportunities and contribute to the digital transformation of the country.
