Cyprus government launches online tool for state benefit eligibility

On July 1, the government of Cyprus introduced a new digital service on its official state portal titled 'Find benefits you may qualify for'. This platform aims to help residents identify state payments, subsidies, and grants for which they might be eligible. To use the tool, residents must complete a multi-stage questionnaire covering residency status, age, employment or student status, family composition, income, assets, and health information. Upon completion, the system generates a personalized list of potentially applicable programs. The service currently includes information on 45 distinct state benefits, including student grants, unemployment benefits, sick pay, child benefits, and housing subsidies for displaced persons. The government stated that the list will be updated regularly. It is important to note that this platform does not process applications or issue payments automatically. Users must still complete the formal application process for each specific benefit separately.
