Police arrest 34 individuals during operation in Limassol
On July 2, 2026, Cypriot authorities conducted an operation in Limassol targeting illegal residency and employment. A total of 34 individuals were arrested during the morning raid. Of those detained, 20 people were arrested for residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus, and 14 were arrested for illegal employment across three different businesses. The 14 detained workers and their three employers will face legal proceedings regarding the illegal employment charges. Additionally, the three employers were fined a total of 42,000 euros for their involvement. The 20 individuals arrested for illegal residency are currently undergoing deportation and repatriation procedures to their home countries. The operation was coordinated by the Police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration.
