Police conduct operation in Limassol resulting in 34 arrests

Cypriot police and the Ministry of Interior conducted a coordinated operation in Limassol to address illegal migration and unauthorized employment. Authorities arrested a total of 34 individuals during the morning operation. Of those detained, 20 were arrested for illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus, and deportation procedures to their countries of origin have been initiated. The remaining 14 individuals were arrested for unauthorized employment. These 14 employees, along with their three respective employers, are scheduled to face legal proceedings. Furthermore, the three employers were issued administrative fines totaling 42,000 euros. The police confirmed that these operations to curb illegal stay and employment are ongoing across the region.
