Israeli tourism to Cyprus shows recovery in 2025
Israeli media report a recovery in tourism to Cyprus following a decline attributed to regional instability and the conflict with Iran. Data from Calcalist indicates that 590,000 Israelis visited Cyprus in 2025, representing a 39% increase compared to 2024. This growth is linked to geographical proximity, frequent flight connections, and favorable currency exchange rates between the Euro and the Shekel. Currently, eight airlines operate approximately 150 weekly flights connecting Israel to Larnaca and Paphos. Tourism officials highlighted the island's competitive pricing and security as key factors. Reports noted that previous tourism drops were caused by conflicts, specifically mentioning a drone attack on the British base in Akrotiri. Louiza Varakla of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism stated that bilateral demand has rebounded rapidly following the resumption of flight operations.
