Cyprus Ports Authority presents €415 million Larnaca port and marina development roadmap
On Thursday, July 2, the Cyprus Ports Authority presented a new strategic roadmap for the integrated redevelopment of the Larnaca port, marina, and adjacent 85,000 square meter land area. The project, which spans a twenty-year horizon until 2045, carries a preliminary estimated cost of €415 million with a variance of ±50%. The plan is divided into three sub-projects: Sub-project A focuses on land development and landscaping with a budget of €190 million (2027–2036), Sub-project B concerns marina upgrades costing €20 million, and Sub-project C involves port modernization at a cost of €205 million. Key infrastructure elements include the relocation of boatyards, construction of new road networks, public spaces, and commercial facilities such as hotels and offices. The project intends to maintain public ownership of the infrastructure by the Cyprus Ports Authority while attracting private investment through collaborative models. Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras welcomed the proposal as a positive step, noting that a public meeting will be held in September to discuss the initiative further. Success remains dependent on the actual implementation of the scheduled works and adherence to the timeline.
