Larnaca port and marina development roadmap presented

The Cyprus Ports Authority presented a new strategic roadmap for the development of the Larnaca port and marina to the city's development committee. The project, estimated to cost 415 million euros with a potential variance of plus or minus 50%, is planned over a twenty-year horizon. The initiative is divided into three main sub-projects, focusing on land development, marina infrastructure, and port modernization. The land development sub-project, with an estimated cost of 190 million euros, is scheduled for 2027-2036 and includes creating new roads, green spaces, and commercial facilities. The marina sub-project has a budget of approximately 20 million euros for the same decade, covering building renovations and breakwater expansions. While the Cyprus Ports Authority will retain ownership of the infrastructure, the plan includes attracting private investors for commercial developments. Mayor Andreas Vyras described the plan as a solid foundation, with a public meeting scheduled for September to discuss the proposal further.
