Lawyer requests immediate placement of Anna Aristotelous in Director General position

On July 2, 2026, lawyer Chris M. Triantafyllides submitted a request to the Council of Ministers regarding his client, Anna Aristotelous. He cited an Administrative Court decision dated June 17, 2026, which annulled the decision to suspend Aristotelous from December 5, 2025. Aristotelous had accepted an appointment as Director General effective December 1, 2025, but she has yet to be placed in an organic position to perform her assigned duties. Triantafyllides demands her immediate placement in the post with retroactive effect from the date of her appointment. He further asserts that she has not been in a state of suspension since December 5, 2025, following the court ruling. In response, the Council of Ministers held an emergency session on June 22, 2026, and proposed to the Public Service Commission that Aristotelous be placed on suspension again.
