Four individuals charged for illegal online gambling promotion
The Hellenic Cyber Crime Unit has filed charges against four individuals accused of illegally promoting unlicensed gambling websites on social media. The investigation was initiated following a complaint by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) regarding activities that took place in July 2025. Following an order from the Athens Public Prosecutor's Office, authorities conducted a thorough digital investigation that identified the suspects. The accused, who are noted as high-profile influencers including an entrepreneur and a trap artist, reportedly used their social media influence to advertise these platforms. The websites in question are included in the HGC blacklist, which requires internet service providers (ISPs) to restrict access to them. The case file has been submitted to the relevant prosecutorial authority for further legal action. The charges involve the unauthorized commercial communication of gambling services.
