Maintenance work has commenced at the Church of Agios Demetrianos in Larnaka, Lapithos, as of July 3, 2026. The project is funded by the European Union and the local community, with technical oversight provided by the UNDP. The restoration of the church is scheduled to last nine months. Under the same contract, conservation work will also be performed on the Church of Agios Charalambos in Agridaki, located in the Kyrenia district. Sotios Ktoris, co-chair of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, confirmed the details of the project. Additionally, restoration work is ongoing at more than 70 cemeteries across Cyprus.
