Robotex Cyprus 2026 robotics festival held at the University of Cyprus

The 9th Robotex Cyprus Educational and Sports Robotics Competition took place on June 27 and 28, 2026, at the University of Cyprus Sports Centre. Thousands of visitors attended the event, which is the largest robotics festival in the country. A total of 700 participants, including pupils, university students, and adults, competed in more than 20 distinct robotics challenges. The event featured addresses from various officials, including a message from the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Nicodemos Damianou, delivered by Marios Tziapouras. Other speakers included University of Cyprus Department of Computer Science chairman Chrysis Georgiou and IET Cyprus board member Fotini Georgiou. Andreas Efstathiou, vice-president of the Research and Innovation Foundation, attended as the representative of the event's Diamond Sponsor. Robotex International CEO Nathan Metsala also attended the festival, noting the historical significance of Cyprus being the first country to host the competition on a national level.
