Workshop on local experience tourism held in Drouseia

On June 29, a participatory workshop titled 'Development and provision of experience tourism by locals' took place at the Regional Museum of Rural Life and Tradition of Akamas in Drouseia. The event was organized by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and held under the auspices of the Commissioner for the Environment, Antonia Theodosiou. Representatives from the Paphos Aphrodite Development Company and the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous participated in the proceedings. Evgenios Savva, director of the Paphos Aphrodite Development Company, presented projects implemented under the LEADER/CLLD local development strategy. The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous highlighted its cultural and environmental sites, specifically the Museum of Rural Life and Tradition, the Reptile and Amphibian Park of Neo Chorio, and the Museum of Sea and Culture of Polis-Latchi. Participants engaged in discussions on fostering cooperation between public bodies, local businesses, and civil society to create sustainable tourism products. The dialogues focused on integrating culture, tradition, nature, and hospitality into new visitor experiences.
