Lithuanian national arrested in France over property claims in Northern Cyprus
A 53-year-old Lithuanian woman was arrested at Nice Airport in France pursuant to a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus. The suspect, a real estate agent who has lived in the northern part of Cyprus for approximately 15 years, is accused of the misappropriation of Greek Cypriot properties. The arrest occurred while she was traveling with her daughter. The suspect has publicly addressed the matter on social media, claiming that she operates a licensed company in accordance with local regulations in the northern part of the island. Currently, French judicial authorities are processing the request for her extradition to the Republic of Cyprus. The case highlights ongoing legal disputes regarding property rights in the territory.
