Matías Morla testifies in Diego Maradona death trial
Matías Morla, the former lawyer and manager of Diego Maradona, testified on Friday in the ongoing trial concerning the football legend's death. The proceedings in San Isidro, Buenos Aires province, are examining the medical team's responsibility and the quality of home care provided to Maradona. Morla stated that Maradona would not have accepted living in the Tigre house if he were healthy, describing the conditions as inadequate. Maradona died on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60, due to cardiorespiratory arrest and pulmonary edema. Witnesses have testified that the room was poorly furnished and lacked essential medical equipment or an ambulance. While Morla managed Maradona's affairs, he denied any role in the medical arrangements, claiming he relied on the expertise of Swiss Medical. Eight medical professionals are currently under investigation regarding the circumstances of his treatment.
