First Ebola case in France recovers and is discharged from hospital
A doctor working for the NGO Alima has recovered from Ebola and was discharged from a French hospital. The patient returned to France from the Democratic Republic of Congo on June 23 after performing humanitarian work. Upon arrival at a Paris airport, the individual reported headaches and was immediately placed into isolation. The patient remained largely asymptomatic throughout the treatment process and was closely monitored following strict health protocols. The French Minister of Health, Stephanie Rist, confirmed the recovery after two PCR tests returned negative results. The doctor has now returned home safely. Officials credited the country's health surveillance and emergency response systems for effectively managing the potential risk.
