Cyprus Environmental Movement holds annual general assembly and elects new board
The Environmental Movement of Cyprus held its annual general assembly on July 3, 2026. The organization identified several priority issues, including the protection of the Akamas Forest Park and concerns regarding the installation of photovoltaic parks on fertile agricultural land. Additionally, the group addressed the challenges of unregulated construction development and the quarrying of materials. During the assembly, the organization re-affirmed its commitment to environmental advocacy. A new Board of Directors was elected during the proceedings. Petros Pasias was elected as President, with Charis Ioakeimidis as Vice President, Christakis Skoufaris as Secretary, Nikos Kouzoupis as Treasurer, and Neofytos Michail as Assistant Treasurer. Other members elected to the board include Mikaela Kythreoti-Michlapa, Panagiotis Markidis, Andreas Andreou, and Stratos Nikolaidis.
