Road closure scheduled for Paphos-Konia road works

The Municipality of Paphos has announced a full closure of a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, specifically between Ahepans Street and Griva Street. This measure is part of an ongoing project to improve the road network connecting Paphos and Konia. The closure is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on July 9, 2026, and is expected to last until July 18, 2026, with some sources noting a completion date of July 19. During this period, Ahepans Street will remain open to facilitate two-way traffic. Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou stated that the focus is on completing work near the bridge area to ensure safety and long-term durability. Upon completion, the road will operate as a two-way route to improve local traffic flow. Authorities have implemented a traffic management plan and advised drivers to use secondary roads to avoid congestion. The municipality has acknowledged the public inconvenience caused by these delays and requested further cooperation from citizens.
