Journalist Maria Antonogiannaki found dead in Crete

The 46-year-old journalist Maria Antonogiannaki was found dead inside her vehicle in a garage in the Agios Ioannis area of Heraklion, Crete, on Sunday evening. Medical personnel from the National Centre for Emergency Care (EKAB) pronounced her dead at the scene. Initial reports suggest natural causes as the reason for her passing. Security footage reportedly recorded the journalist returning home, entering the garage, and boarding her vehicle shortly before her death. The deceased worked for the television station Kreta TV and the website neakriti.gr. Her body will be transferred to the University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) for an autopsy. Her funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 16:00 at the Church of Agios Ioannis in Knossos.
