AKEL requests relocation of Modestos Panteli military camp in Liopetri

A primary concern cited is the camp's proximity to the 1st Primary School of Liopetri. AKEL clarifies that it does not dispute the operational role of the National Guard but emphasizes that recent urban development makes the current site unsuitable for public safety. The party has requested official information regarding safety studies, existing security measures, and the potential establishment of safety zones. Furthermore, they are seeking clarity on whether the Ministry of Defense is actively planning to relocate the camp and its storage facilities outside the residential zone. AKEL maintains that ensuring the safety of students and local residents is a priority and awaits a response from the Ministry regarding these concerns.
