Power supply restored in Cyprus following technical failure

On the morning of the reported day, a technical failure occurred within the Cyprus power generation system. At 08:05, the Vasilikos Power Station experienced a malfunction leading to the loss of the ESK41 production unit. At the time of the incident, the unit was operating at a capacity of 51 MW. This failure resulted in load shedding and power outages across various regions of Cyprus. The Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO) confirmed the incident in an official statement. Repair efforts were immediate, and full power supply was restored to all affected consumers by 08:17. No further complications or secondary failures were reported following the restoration.
