Memorial events scheduled in Limassol for July 2026

The Municipality of Limassol is hosting two distinct commemorative events in July 2026. On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 19:00, the Panos Solomonidis Municipal Cultural Centre will host a tribute to the 13 heroes of the Mari explosion. This event features performers George Ioannou and Margarita Gerasimou, accompanied by the Children's Vocal Ensemble under Christina Krasidou, and musicians Konstantinos Makaritis, Antonis Polykarpou, and Angelos Cheipeloglou. Separately, on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 20:00, the Pattichio Municipal Theatre will host a production titled 'Lord, help us to remember' by the Diastasis group. This tribute focuses on the 1974 coup and the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Performers include Dimitris Fanis, George Ioannou, Andrea Sofokleous, and Ioanna Avram.
