Recent crime reports from Limassol and Larnaca districts
Recent criminal activity in Cyprus includes multiple incidents involving robbery, kidnapping, and physical assault. In Limassol, police are investigating a bakery robbery where a hooded man stole a cash drawer containing 300 euros with an accomplice. Additionally, a 23-year-old delivery rider was assaulted in Kato Polemidia by three individuals who stole his motorcycle, 100 euros, and two mobile phones; he sustained bruising but was discharged from the hospital. Separately, a 36-year-old man remains in custody in Larnaca, facing trial on July 16 for the March 2026 kidnapping and knife-point assault of two women. Furthermore, three suspects aged 32, 42, and 44 were remanded for six days following the alleged abduction and robbery of a 65-year-old man in Kofinou, from whom they stole 300 euros, a phone, and copper scrap. Police are analyzing CCTV footage to determine if the Limassol delivery driver attacks are connected to a single group of youths. Authorities emphasize that the recent string of robberies targeting delivery personnel does not currently appear to be motivated by racism.
