Recent violent crime reports in Limassol and Larnaca
Police are investigating two distinct criminal cases in Cyprus. In Limassol, a 21-year-old delivery driver was attacked around 1 a.m. by three individuals on mopeds who stole €1,800 in cash. Authorities are linking this to a string of five similar robberies against delivery workers and are currently analyzing CCTV footage. In a separate case in Larnaca, a 65-year-old man reported being abducted and robbed by three men, two of whom he knew. The suspects, aged 32, 42, and 44, allegedly assaulted the victim, stole €300 and his phone, then forced him to drive to his premises where they stole copper items. All three suspects in the Larnaca case were arrested in Nicosia and remanded in custody for six days. The motives are believed to involve financial disputes regarding the trade of potentially stolen vehicle parts. The 65-year-old victim sustained bodily harm during the ordeal.
