National Guard recruitment process for the 2026 intake commences

The enlistment process for the 2026 intake of the National Guard began on July 6, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on July 10. Approximately 3,000 recruits are expected to enlist for a 14-month term of service. Registration is taking place at centers in Larnaca, Limassol, and the Christou Samara camp in Athalassa, while the Paphos center will operate on July 9 and 10. Defense Ministry spokesperson Christos Pieris stated that the process has proceeded smoothly without issues. Conscripts are required to present their ID, enlistment notice, and any necessary medical documents, while also ensuring they have provided their IBAN and vaccination records. Recruits are instructed to wear their military uniforms if previously issued and are advised that they will receive movement orders for their assigned units the day after their arrival. The swearing-in ceremony for the recruits is scheduled for July 24, 2026.
