Elena Kousiou appointed as deputy spokesperson for DISY

The Democratic Rally (DISY) party has announced the appointment of Elena Kousiou as its new deputy spokesperson. She succeeds Photini Tsiridou, who recently transitioned to the role of Chair of the Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee. Despite her new parliamentary duties, Tsiridou will remain an active member of the party’s communications team. Party President Annita Dimitriou stated that the move is part of a broader strategy to utilize the party’s human resources and build a stronger team. Kousiou, who was a candidate in the parliamentary elections, accepted the position after reportedly declining an offer from President Nikos Christodoulides for a ministerial post. She cited her commitment to DISY, which currently serves as the opposition party, as the primary reason for refusing the government position. The appointment follows a series of recent internal staffing changes announced by the party leadership throughout June.
