Elena Kousiou appointed as deputy spokesperson for DISY
The Democratic Rally (DISY) party has officially appointed Elena Kousiou as its new deputy spokesperson. Party president Annita Demetriou announced the decision, emphasizing the party's strategy to utilize its internal human resources to strengthen its communications team. Kousiou succeeds Fotini Tsiridou, who has moved to chair the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs but will remain active in the party's communication group. Reports indicate that Kousiou recently declined an offer from President Nikos Christodoulides for a ministerial position in the cabinet, citing her commitment to the opposition party. This appointment follows recent personnel changes within the party leadership, including the appointment of Onoufrios Koullas as executive director and the retention of Georgios Hatzigeorgiou and Margarita Kaimaklioti in international relations roles. President Demetriou cited Kousiou's performance in the last legislative elections as a factor for the appointment. The transition reflects the party's ongoing efforts to reorganize its structure under the current leadership.
