Attempted armed robbery at a Nikaia confectionery store
On the evening of Sunday, July 6, an armed robbery occurred at a confectionery shop in Nikaia shortly after 22:00. An unidentified man, approximately 50 years old and wearing a blue hat and a black surgical mask, entered the store and demanded cash while brandishing a pistol. The employee hid behind the display counters, at which point the suspect pulled the trigger, but the weapon proved to be a replica or fake. Upon realizing the firearm was not functional, the employee defended herself using a mop to drive the man away. The perpetrator managed to steal an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, which marks the 21st time this specific business has been targeted by criminals. No injuries were reported during the confrontation.
