Recent wildfires in Limassol and Paphos districts successfully contained

Two separate wildfire incidents occurred recently in the districts of Limassol and Paphos. On Monday afternoon, a fire broke out near the Parekklisia community in Limassol, which was contained by the Department of Forests at 17:20. Four forestry personnel and one fire vehicle participated in the operation, which prevented the fire from spreading, resulting in minor damage to wild vegetation. A separate fire occurred on Saturday night in the rural area of Prastio, Paphos. This blaze was extinguished by the Kelokedara rural fire station with assistance from the Game Service, burning an area of two decares consisting of dry grass, wild vegetation, and some wild olive trees. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of both incidents. The Paphos fire response was reportedly facilitated by the 24-hour operation of the local station.
