Funeral service held for businessman Nikos Shacolas

The funeral of Cypriot businessman Nikos Shacolas took place on Monday at the Holy Church of Agia Sophia in Strovolos. The service was attended by President Nikos Christodoulides, House President Annita Demetriou, Archbishop Georgios, and various political and business figures. Tributes were paid to Shacolas’ professional career, his social contributions, and his personal life. His son, Marios Shacolas, delivered a eulogy highlighting his father’s roles as a husband, father, and grandfather. Marios Shacolas also shared memories of working with his father for 40 years, recounting early experiences involving the family's initial business dealings in potato imports. The family expressed gratitude to attendees and those who offered messages of support. Averof Neofytou also provided remarks praising the deceased's values.
