Jota Silva set to join Olympiacos on loan from Nottingham Forest
26-year-old Portuguese winger Jota Silva is finalizing a transfer to Olympiacos on a loan deal from Nottingham Forest. The player is scheduled to arrive in the Netherlands on Tuesday, July 7, to join the team's training camp and meet his new coach and teammates. While details regarding a purchase option are still being finalized, the transfer is expected to be completed shortly. Silva reportedly chose Olympiacos over offers from MLS clubs Charlotte FC and San Diego, as well as Serie A sides Venezia and Parma. Antonio Miguel Cardoso played a decisive role in the negotiations due to his prior working relationship with the player at Vitoria Guimaraes. In his career, Silva was sold from Guimaraes to Nottingham Forest for 7 million euros after being acquired for 700,000 euros. Sources differ on his previous loan destination, with reports mentioning a spell at Besiktas where he recorded 5 goals and 1 assist in 22 matches. Olympiacos had shown interest in the player previously, but successfully accelerated negotiations this year.
