Low-power explosive device detonated at Limassol building
On Tuesday, July 7, at approximately 03:00-03:30, a low-power explosive device detonated at the entrance of a building on Megalou Alexandrou Street in central Limassol. The facility houses the regional offices of the EDON youth organization and also operates as a cultural center, or "bouat." The blast caused damage to the entrance of the structure and to a nearby parked vehicle. No injuries were reported, as the premises were closed at the time of the incident. Lefteris Kyriakou, spokesperson for the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE), confirmed that police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements. The building recently underwent a change in management, and investigators are examining whether this change or the organization's political ties are linked to the motive. The scene remains cordoned off while forensic evidence is being processed.
