Recent drug-related arrests and seizures in Limassol and Paphos
Cypriot police have conducted several drug enforcement operations across Limassol and Paphos. In Limassol, a 38-year-old man was arrested on July 9, 2026, after police discovered an indoor cannabis cultivation laboratory containing 12 plants, seeds, and 544 grams of cannabis at his residence. In a separate ongoing case from July 2, 2026, two suspects aged 28 and 23 remain in custody after British Base police, acting on information from the Cypriot drug squad (YKAN), discovered additional drug quantities in a restricted area. Furthermore, in Paphos, two men aged 29 and 21 were arrested on July 6, 2026, following a vehicle stop where officers recovered 3 grams of cannabis, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, and 700 euros in cash. A subsequent search of their residence in Paphos yielded 197 grams of cannabis, 1 gram of cocaine, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 73 Captagon pills, and 4,250 euros in cash. The Paphos suspects have been remanded in custody for six days. Investigations by YKAN in both districts remain ongoing as all suspects prepare for court hearings.
