Two men arrested in Paphos on drug trafficking and money laundering charges
On Monday afternoon, police in Paphos arrested two men, aged 29 and 21, following a traffic stop in Kato Paphos based on a tip-off. During an initial search of their vehicle, officers from the drug squad (Ykan) discovered 3g of cannabis, 0.5g of methamphetamine, and €700 in cash. A subsequent search of the suspects' residence led to the additional seizure of 1g of cocaine, 10g of methamphetamine, 73 Captagon tablets, 197g of cannabis, and €4,250 in cash. The suspects are under investigation for drug possession with intent to supply and money laundering. On Tuesday, the Paphos District Court issued a six-day detention order against both men. The local branch of the drug squad continues to lead the investigation into the case. No other injuries or resistance were reported during the arrest.
