Issak-Solomou memorial motorcycle initiative departs Cyprus for Greece

On July 7, the Issak-Solomou Memorial Initiative departed from Limassol port for a ten-day motorcycle tour of Greece. The mission involves 60 participants and 40 motorcycles traveling to Piraeus via the sea passenger ferry service. This tour commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1996 deaths of Tasos Issak and Solomos Solomou, who were killed during a motorcycle demonstration toward occupied Cyprus. The route includes stops at locations named after occupied areas, specifically Ano Kerineia in Achaia, Karavas in Kythira, Salamina in Attica, Rhodes, and Kastellorizo. The program includes memorial events, street renaming ceremonies in honor of the two men, and a meeting with the President of the Greek Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas. A major event will be held at the House of Cyprus in Athens with the support of the Cypriot Embassy. The tour is joined by Tasos Issak's family members, including his mother Tasoula and daughter Anastasia.
