Suspect in Monaco bombing found dead near Kyiv
Anastasiia Berezovska, a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman, was found dead near Kyiv on the night of July 6, 2026, reportedly suffering from gunshot wounds. She was the primary suspect in an Interpol Red Notice for an attempted assassination on June 29, 2026, targeting Ukrainian-born businessman Vadym Yermolaiev in Monaco. The explosion occurred at an apartment building entrance, wounding Yermolaiev, his partner, and his son. Monaco authorities reported the suspect fled through France, Italy, and Germany following the attack. Ukrainian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda reports that two suspects have been detained in connection with her death, including an active officer of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) and a former law enforcement official. Yermolaiev, a Cypriot citizen since 2019, had been under Ukrainian sanctions since 2023 regarding business activities in Crimea. Official confirmation from Ukrainian authorities remains pending.
