Lawsuit filed over Predator spyware scandal and parliamentary tension in Greece
Eight individuals affected by the Predator spyware scandal in Greece have filed a lawsuit at the Athens Court of First Instance, seeking a total of 7.6 million euros in damages. The plaintiffs, including journalist Thanasis Koukakis and several others, are targeting the Intellexa company and 13 associated individuals. The legal action alleges that Cyprus served as a hub for the operations of Tal Dilian and his business network before activities were moved to Greece. Meanwhile, the Greek Parliament's Committee on Institutions and Transparency rejected an opposition request to summon Tal Dilian and former government official Grigoris Dimitriadis for testimony. Government lawmakers argued that they are not public figures, a decision that led to the opposition walking out in protest over alleged cover-up efforts. Critics highlighted that Tal Dilian had previously been summoned in 2022, contradicting the current official position. The case is also under review by the Independent Authority Against Corruption in Cyprus.
