Predator spyware victims file lawsuit for damages in Athens

Eight individuals affected by the Predator spyware surveillance scandal have filed a joint lawsuit at the Multi-Member Court of First Instance in Athens. The plaintiffs are Thanasis Koukakis, Artemis Seaford, Pinelopi Miniati, Antonia Primpa, Angeliki Rousou, Zoi-Maria Sakkali, Ioannis Fytilis, and Spyros Sideris. They are seeking a total of 7.6 million euros in compensation for moral damages, violation of privacy, and breach of communication confidentiality. Specifically, seven of the plaintiffs are claiming 1 million euros each, while one plaintiff is seeking 600,000 euros. The lawsuit is directed against the company Intellexa and 13 natural persons accused of involvement in the operation of the spyware network. Lawyer Zacharias Kesses, representing the plaintiffs, confirmed the filing at the former Evelpidon School courts. This legal action marks the first civil lawsuit regarding the illicit use of Predator software in Greece.
