Leadership change at the Paphos Police Department

Police Director Kleitos Erotokritou has retired from his position at the Paphos Police Department, having entered pre-retirement leave on Friday. He is succeeded by Marinos Kyriakidis, who previously served as the Assistant Police Director of Administration. Michalis Nikolaou will retain his position as Assistant Police Director of Operations and will also oversee administrative duties until a new appointment is made. While the region is noted for a relatively low rate of organized and serious crime compared to other provinces, the new leadership faces an immediate challenge regarding the high frequency of vehicle arson incidents. Local media reports emphasize that addressing these fires is a priority for the incoming administration. The transition marks a significant shift in the local law enforcement command structure. All administrative roles are expected to be stabilized once a new official is assigned to the vacant assistant director position.
