Cyprus Olympic Committee president visits athletes at GSP stadium

On Monday, July 6, the President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC), Georgios Chrysostomou, visited the National Athletics Stadium at GSP. He met with athletes preparing for upcoming international events, including the Commonwealth Games, Mediterranean Games, and Youth Olympic Games. Chrysostomou was accompanied by Cyprus Amateur Athletic Federation (KOEAS) board members Dora Kyriakou and Petros Mitsidis. Kyriakou will serve as Assistant Chief of Mission, and Mitsidis will act as an athletics team escort for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which commence on July 23. During the visit, the delegation spoke with athletes including Styliana Ioannidou, Petros Michaelides, Ioseph Papa, and Kalliopi Kountouri, as well as coaches Giorgos Skender and Spyros Spyrou, and physiotherapist Christos Mitas. Chrysostomou expressed the committee's support for the athletes and federation selections. He noted that coordinated efforts with event organizers resulted in an increased number of athletes being able to participate in the Commonwealth Games.
