Yiannos Pantazis elected as new president of the Cyprus Hotel Association

During the Annual General Meeting held at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia, Yiannos Pantazis was elected as the new president of the Cyprus Hotel Association (PASYXE), succeeding Thanos Michaelides who completed a three-year term. The event coincided with the 90th anniversary of the association and was attended by President Nikos Christodoulides, House President Annita Demetriou, and other government and business officials. The assembly also elected a new Board of Directors for the 2026-2029 period, featuring Andreas Kapetanios as Deputy President, Panagiotis Konstantinou as First Vice President, Andreas Tsokkos as Second Vice President, Iason Perdios as Secretary, and Alexios Chrysafinis as Financial Manager. During the meeting, the association unveiled 'Xenios Analytics', a new digital platform designed to track and analyze the hotel industry's performance. Outgoing president Thanos Michaelides reported that 2025 saw a record of 4.5 million tourists with revenues near 3.7 billion euros, while highlighting potential risks from the Middle East crisis. Yiannos Pantazis pledged to strengthen the tourism sector through close cooperation with the board and the association's members.
