Residents of four Cyprus villages report persistent danger from stray dog pack

Residents of Korfi, Limnatis, Kapileio, and Agios Mamas have reported that a pack of approximately ten large dogs has been active in their area for seven months. Local community members state that the pack frequently travels between these villages, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. Documented incidents include attacks on and the killing of pets and stray animals. Additionally, the dogs have been reported entering private properties, causing distress to homeowners. An active animal welfare volunteer named Yiota has been acting as a liaison for affected residents and has formally communicated the issue to relevant authorities. Despite these reports and appeals for intervention, residents claim that no effective solution has been implemented to date. The situation is described as particularly difficult for the elderly population in these communities. The local authorities have not yet provided a resolution to the ongoing problem.
