Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping visits London to promote maritime sector
Deputy Shipping Minister of Cyprus Marina Hadjimanoli visited London from July 6 to July 9 to attend events promoting the Cypriot shipping industry. A key event was held at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters, coinciding with the 137th session of the IMO Council. During the visit, Hadjimanoli met with IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez and the President of Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority, Fawaz Al-Sahli, to discuss bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on expanding the Cypriot ship registry and strengthening international maritime policies. The Deputy Minister highlighted that Cyprus remains a significant global maritime power. Key policy priorities emphasized during the trip included maritime decarbonization, navigation safety, and environmental protection. Hadjimanoli stated that these challenges require international cooperation and sustainable, human-centric solutions. The Minister also met with representatives of shipping companies and staff from Cypriot maritime offices based in Brussels and London.
