APOEL eyes transfer of midfielder Antonin Barak from Fiorentina
APOEL is currently exploring the possibility of signing 31-year-old Czech midfielder Antonin Barak from Fiorentina. According to reports from the Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, both APOEL and Iraklis Thessaloniki are interested in the player. Barak, who is under contract with Fiorentina until the summer of 2027, has recently returned from a loan spell at Sampdoria where he made 28 appearances in Serie B. Although Fiorentina is reportedly open to a transfer as the player is not currently in their primary plans, no formal bids have been submitted yet. The midfielder has significant experience in Italy, having played for Udinese, Lecce, Hellas Verona, and Fiorentina, in addition to stints at Kasimpasa, Slavia Prague, and Pribram. He has also represented the Czech national team in 44 matches. Negotiating a deal is described as complex due to specific financial and sporting requirements that must be met. Discussions with the club and the player's representatives are expected to take place in the coming days.
