48-year-old woman arrested for theft of 270,000 euros in Strovolos

A 48-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday, July 7, in connection with the theft of 270,000 euros from a residence in Strovolos. The burglary occurred on Thursday, July 2, according to the 79-year-old owner. The victim, a pensioner, reported that the cash had been kept in his home, allegedly accumulated from watermelon sales. Police launched an investigation after determining that the residence had been broken into. Sources indicate that the complainant had reportedly informed other individuals about keeping cash at his property, information which may have reached the suspect. Following her arrest, the suspect has reportedly been uncooperative with the authorities. The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) continues to handle the case. The suspect was presented before the Nicosia District Court, which issued a six-day detention order.
