K2 Airways cargo aircraft wreckage located in Arabian Sea
A Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft operated by the Pakistani company K2 Airways crashed into the Arabian Sea late Tuesday night while en route from Sharjah to Karachi. The flight went missing around 21:21 local time, 155 nautical miles west of Karachi, shortly after the crew reported navigation system malfunctions. FlightRadar24 data indicated erratic flight patterns, including rapid altitude changes and a sharp change in direction. Pakistan's aviation authorities, the Navy, and the Maritime Security Agency launched a search and rescue operation involving both military and civil assets. Following 12 hours of search efforts, authorities confirmed that the wreckage was located 53 nautical miles south of the Ormara coast. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered an acceleration of recovery efforts for the five crew members who remain missing. The search operation is currently ongoing as rescue teams continue to scour the area for survivors.
