Police seize untaxed tobacco products in Ayia Napa

Police officers and customs officials conducted a search of a vehicle parked in a public space in Ayia Napa following an intelligence tip-off. During the inspection, authorities discovered a large quantity of illicit tobacco products. According to reports, the seized items included over 66 kilograms of hookah tobacco, 510 cartons of cigarettes, 64 cartons of cigarillos, 40 cartons of heated tobacco, and 2,750 grams of rolling tobacco. Discrepancies exist between reports, as one source initially mentioned only 510 cartons of cigarettes while another provided a more detailed breakdown of various tobacco types. Both the vehicle and the confiscated goods have been seized by the Customs Department. The Ayia Napa Police Station and customs authorities are continuing their investigation into the case. No arrests have been officially announced at this stage.
