Greek parliamentary committee rejects request to summon Tal Dilian and Grigoris Dimitriadis
The Greek Parliamentary Committee on Institutions and Transparency rejected an opposition request to summon Intellexa founder Tal Dilian and former Secretary General of the Prime Minister's office, Grigoris Dimitriadis. The ruling New Democracy party blocked the request, arguing that neither individual currently holds a public office. In response, representatives from PASOK, SYRIZA, and the KKE party walked out of the session in protest. Government spokesperson Makis Voridis justified the decision by stating that both individuals had previously provided testimony and are no longer public figures. Opposition members characterized the move as an attempt to obstruct the investigation into the ongoing wiretapping scandal. Meanwhile, in Cyprus, the Independent Authority Against Corruption is preparing to launch an investigation into the 'black van' case involving surveillance activities. This investigation will examine the involvement of officials and politicians related to the surveillance matter. The Cyprus authority has been conducting preliminary research on these allegations since March 2026.
