APOEL receives new transfer ban due to unpaid debt to Kingsley Sarfo
APOEL Nicosia has been issued a new transfer ban by UEFA due to an outstanding debt owed to former player Kingsley Sarfo. The total debt to the Ghanaian player was approximately 165,000 euros. Management attempted to reach a settlement agreement with the player, but it was rejected, leading to the current ban. Recent payments of 50,000 euros a month ago and 65,000 euros yesterday have been made to reduce the outstanding balance. The remaining debt is approximately 50,000 euros, and the club's administration, led by Charis Fotiou, is working to settle the balance to lift the restrictions. This development follows a recent resolution regarding Youssef El-Arabi. The board continues to manage these legacy financial issues to restore the club's ability to register new signings.
