Limassol lawyer arrested following sexual harassment complaint

Authorities in Limassol have arrested a lawyer following a complaint filed by a 19-year-old woman. The incident allegedly occurred within the offices of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) on Wednesday. The woman had been detained by YKAN officers during an operation in Mouttagiaka, where approximately 65 grams of drugs were seized, resulting in the arrest of two individuals including the 19-year-old. During her interrogation at the YKAN offices, she requested and was granted legal representation. According to her statement to the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE), the lawyer sexually harassed her during their consultation. Following the formal complaint, police arrested the lawyer for investigation into the alleged offense. The Limassol police are currently conducting an active investigation into the matter.
